Report: | Good solid win for Bromley on home territory after last week's disappointing Cobdown match where everybody either got lost going there or on the way home. Good those " sat navs ".
Straightforward wins at nos. 1 & 2 particularly for Ali whose game was almost flawless against an opponent whose hard hitting style played right into Ali's hands. Graham had a bit more of a battle with Bill but ran out comfortably in the end.
All the fun occurred with the 3 and 4 strings where both Alan and I found ourselves 2-0 down and having to win it the hard way.I didn't see Alan's game but looking at the scores it clearly could have gone either way. I must make mention of the "support" I was getting from the balcony in the first two games of my match where I was to put it mildly struggling. Mention of " rather be watching paint dry " and " why does he keep hitting it back to his opponent" were to be heard more than once. Must take those guys with me to all the matches!!!
Finally there was Eamo, wearing his favourite scarlet or is it pink top, who, clearly relaxed with the match already won, was no match for the whippet like Steve who was too quick and lively for him.
So its from bottom to top with Dulwich awaiting us next week. They will no doubt be wanting revenge against the only team to beat them so far this season. Bring 'em on!! |
