Report: | After a run of three successive defeats,Dulwich were able to stop the rot with a hard fought victory over David Lloyds.
1st up were the No 5's.El Capitano played due to the unavailability of other. It proved to be a mistake. After taking the 1st game my knee gave out when 4-1 up in the 2nd.Therfore, I had to forfeit the game. At least I got aa point, and if we go up, you can bet your nuts that I will impress on my team-mates that it was that point which made the difference.
The No2 match was a heated one. Both players wanted to win very badly. It became so intense that a marker change was needed after Kevin was bombarded with lets and the then inevitable disagreement with his decision. Young Jack showed once again that he is maturing into a fine player, by keeping his head and winning 3-1.
J-P and Ed played well to take their respective matches. Both games produced some good squash and were closer then the scores suggest.
Matt and Greg showed us all how the game should be played. Again, a very intense match but played in a good spirit. After, many good rallies, fine retreiving and plenty of huff and puff Greg took the win. But the match went to the boys from SE22.
Sausage and mash for grub. Great! Enjoyable company.Nice club to play at but for the monthly fees I'd expect the courts to smell of lavender not lavatory.(Joke). This win keeps us in the hunt for promotion. The final week should be a doozy. |
