Report: | Acacia Hall, down from Div 2 seemed set to anihilate Bromley, up from 4. Bob hardly gave Kevin a look-in for the first rubber. In their first games, Tim and Nick looked to be going the same way but then both showed the merit of hanging in there, Tim through varying his shots so that Marc had increasing difficulty in reading his game and Nick through chasing down everything that Paul didn't kill. Was Nick's first win for Bromley to be the turning point for the match? Nope! Reality returned when 'Disguise' Dave allowed 'Tubby' Tel no more than a game and Andy's all-round command of the court was too much for captain Ray. 3-2 reads rather better than 18-7 but it's early days yet... |
