Report: | A quantum leap in Pavilion terms-5pts!
In what is obviously becoming a warm up for the winter league some more new tryouts and some players from previous games in much more appropriate positions.
At 5 Tim, a previous 1, performed admirably, but on a hot humid night Kevin's youth and stamina proved decisive in the fifth.
At 4 Sat jumped in at the last minute, desperate for match practice after an operation.Too soon obviously as Richard's even strokeplay slowly but surely notched up the points.
At 3 Graham, another previous 1, seemed to be finding his level but was unable to maintain consistency.
At 2 a facinating duel between Pat the tall leftie and Gurkan the shorter righthand.Pat was ruthlessly catching Gurkan short for the first game and a half mainly with dropshots. But in a tough point by point battle Gurkan managed to hold his game together better into the fifth.
At 1 Archie was just staightforwardly outclassed by Graham on the night!
Onwards and onwards |
