Report: | First match back after Christmas is always an dodgy one.....
Bruiser v Mike
Close game in the first with Mike making very few mistakes but bruiser dug in and took it 9-7. Bruiser relaxed a bit in the next two which allowed Mike to tighten it up still further to take the lead 2-1. At this stage Bruiser looked ‘done in’ but we know better and carried on at the same pace to take the game 3-2.
Smiler v Paul
Smiler stepped on court with unshaven rugged and ready to do battle look. It was soon apparent that Smiler was not really in it, was it the Christmas turkey he was still carrying or the old turkey he ate on New Years Eve……………..the jury’s still out on that one but he went down(no pun intended) 0-3, 3,4&1.
Tricky v John
Didn’t see much of this game but the little bit I did see showed that Tricky was just too strong for John and took the match comfortably 2,1&2.
Chopper v Paul
Well the warm up promised a hack-a-thon and that’s what we got. Some excellent squash at times but fitness proved to be a factor with Paul managing to hit that ball just a little harder!! We’ll be sending Paul the bill for plaster repairs!! Chopper lost the first but took the second to take the game to 1-1, a very close third was the pivotal point in the match which Paul took 10-9. Chopper was all spent so to speak and lost the forth 2-9 and the match 3-1.
Coach v The Herminator
This promised to be a battle as The Herminator took the last meeting 3-1 and Coach was out for revenge, imagine what was said when Coach was seen with an extra cold Guinness just before the match!! This obviously had the desired effect, Coach walked on court and straight from the off there was no letting up on the pace and whilst there were a few hand outs there was nothing the Herminator could do. Coach terminated The Herminator 3,1&5 to take the match 3-0.
A good start for BCC to extend there lead to 30 points ahead of Park Langley.
Man of the match, this is getting boring now……..Coach!!
