Report: | Taking advantage of Cannons lack of a game this week the Bromley boys nipped down to Waterfront and nicked 20 points to go top of the league.
It was reasonably straightforward stuff for the Bromley 5 with Graham E in particular showing no mercy. " Hard @astard" that he is.
The rest of us rather eased our way back in to team squash after the Christmas break with me in particular, in familar style, making hard work of it before winning in 5. Being on last meant that everybody else had the "pleasure" of watching it and in the process getting freezing cold as the clock ticked on and somebody had obviously turned the heating off. Impatience was showing and along with regular cries of " get on with it", the marker ("Hard @astard"), in an effort to hurry things along, had his hand firmly on the outside door handle in an attempt to prevent Tim from leaving the court at the end of one game.
Other "highlights" of the evening included Ian who was sporting a squash glove - now that takes you back - way back. Difficult also to forget the crater that has appeared in the front wall of one of the courts which has the ability to make the ball do some very strange things.
But it was finally all done and dusted and at last we got Neil to put his hand in his pocket and treat us to beer and food courtesy of The Great Harry pub in Woolwich. Great stuff.
