Report: | This was a classic match to end the summer season. Shapiro taking Stone to five games mayhave edged the match but for a drop shot that was tinned. Excellent game to watch and well played to both. Nic Winning meanwhile looked as if he had left his squash self in Barcelona and played a tired match against a difficult and tight opponent.
Next on were the number 5 seeds. Not a great squash game for the purists but a 3-1 victory for Dulwich that was ground out through the evening. Knox on at fourth seed produced great attacking squash to win 3-1 and plainly is peaking for the winter season.
That left the top seeds to battle it out for the match. Aruably this was Olly Ruff's best performance as he took the unbeaten Matt Horder to five games losing 7-9 in the fifth. Wonderful squash, colourful language and tasty food.
See you boys in the winter. |
