Report: | BCC went down to Dartford looking for a good result……
Big Andy V Pat
Not the best game in the world, a bit patch all round and saw Pat take the first two 7 & 7. Big Andy thought it was time to change tack but just didn’t have the right game plan to change the result. 3-0 to Pat.
Chopper V Alistair
Chopper was confident of a win here as he’d beaten Alistair in recent friendly. Chopper went in too relaxed by all accounts and promptly lost the first two games 7 & 3, thing were not looking good, he came back though to take the next 5 & 2. All on the fifth now but Chopper had nothing left and went down 9-1 and so the match 2-3. Chopper went early and was up all night with a stomach upset, I wont bore you with the details eh!
FC (aka Richard Kimpton) V Stewart
Recently recruited from the first team FC this promised to be a good match as they regularly have a knock around together. I didn’t see much of this match but I know FC had to win this in three and started off brilliantly with a 9-0 in the first and a 9-4 in the second. Could he hold onto it for the third, as FC was tiring Stew decided it was a good time to try and run FC around, I saw those three points!! Too little too late and FC took the third 9-6 and the match 3-0.
Smiler V Steve
Smiler always looked comfortable here taking the first one 9-5, Steve really put the effort in during the second but it went to 8-8 and Smiler took it 10-8. I think Smiler will agree the third was a really scrappy game and by hook or by crook Smiler took that also and the match 3-0.
The Boy V Motor Mouth ( Nick Peel )
This promised to be a great match and there were periods of absolutely great squash but it started straight away with MM contesting every decision that Stuart made, much yawning from the gallery!! this obviously had an effect on The Boy and he went down 1-9 in the first. After a bit of advice from FC, ie don’t pay any attention and play your own game The Boy took the next 9-1, the next two went either way with more arguing and then into the fifth, The Boy really had to concentrate now and ignore what was going on. Unfortunate MM got the better of him and after retrieving a couple of match points against him lost the fifth and the match 2-3.
Man or the match……Stewart, not for playing but for marking!!
