Report: | A desperate ring round for players made for a closely fought division 2 squash match.
With Paul and Steve going on first everybody was getting ready for their usual 5 set match, the marker had his pillow at the ready, but with both players putting in below average performances the game was lost on more mistakes by Steve.
Daniel played the second but was swept aside by Stuart who put in a near perfect display.
Matt at Number 3 smashed his way through the first game before coming up against his achilles heel, fitness, still he had enough in the tank to finish the match in 3, (just).
Pete playing his usual roll of number 5 managed to win the first game with his own racket before changing it every game to loose the next 3.
With the score at 2-2 all was to play for, the number ones got under way, Dave had no answer for the first two games, with the ball being taken early, and a left handed player he was looking worried.
But at 5-1 down in the third things started to go the way of Dave and his never say die attitude, he put in a great performance to bring the match home.
A big thank you must go to Dartford who made the match enjoyable for all who took part. |
