Report: | A clinical win for Bexley who are hoping to secure second place. Scott Sumner at number 1 took on Matt K and his dancing shoes - neither Matt nor his shoes were a match on the day for Sumner who won 3-0.
At number 2 was Nic Winning who had warmed up by marking the fourth rubber, which Bexley won 3-1, lost his second rubber by the same margin. Rob Lewis the Bexley number 2 displaying an excellent technique and that without having attended a squash camp.
At third string Ed Knox won 3-2 against an opponent who specialises in winning five set matches having beaten the author by that score in the reverse game and I an Armstrong of our 2nds in that match. So an inspiring result by Knox in good time for him to hit form for the winter season.
Then there was a match of sorts at number 4. Though, unmeritorious appealing seems to have become infectious and was the subject of some contrition ex post facto. Dan Lark produced fast and hard hitting squash to win this 3-1.
Finally was Rhys who retires for the winter season on the grounds that he is joining the work force of the United Kingdom having been a student to date. Therefore whilst assisting the recovery of the country's economy he will be too busy to play squash, or so he says. Stepping in at the last minute he could not match the wily O'Reilly who finished 3-0 up.
The evening had a suitable supper to match with Kendall's beef, which is a reference to what we were given to eat rather than an obvious play on words. And to end it all...washing up whilst the chef, his potato peeler and others all fled the scene. |
