Report

Report:This was the match of the season so far, Coach, the Mighty Matt Horder V Scintillating Scott Sumner. Both unbeaten so far..............

F C V Rob
This was always going to be a marathon and sure enough they were still playing 1hr 15mins later!! A good match all the same with both taking alternate games, I think it was a case of win a game and rest for the next. So it was all down to the fifth, by this time Rob had been moaning and grumbling so much he'd run out of things to say!!
To be fair in the last game Rob let his racquet do the talking, and seemed to be getting around the court and pulling out a few more shots than F C and so took the match 3-2.

Chopper V Chris
I didn't see much of this game but by all accounts Chopper seemed to do everything right and really didn't let Chris into the game so there it is 3-0 to Chopper.

Bruiser V Dan
Although Bruiser's been in training Dan was just too fit and took the first two 4 & 2, was it possible for Bruiser to make a comeback like so often before. No such luck here, Dan kept up the pace and took the match 3-0.

Coach V Scott
This was the match that it promised to be with Coach taking the first and then the second, a resounding 9-0. It was obvious Scott was having non of this and came back with some great squash to take the next two 2 & 3, was Coach down and out, had he put too much into the first two games? It was all on the fifth, Coach was 6-2 up and we thought that was it for Scott but no Scott pulled it back to 5-6 only to see Coach take it to 8-5 and match ball, really gripping stuff, of course Scott pulled it back to 8-8 where we saw a few hand outs and some fantastic rallies but Coach dug in and took the fifth 10-8 and the match 3-2. Great game with great sportsmanship, only one let in the match, match of the season so far.

Big Andy V Grant
Big Andy had just been marking a marathon and so really wasn't in it in the first two with far too many unforced errors and made it easy for Grant. The second proved a different story where Big Andy got it together and started playing some sensible squash and took the third 9-4. Puffing a bit now Big Andy walked on court for the fourth.......yes you know what’s coming.......... a couple of 30 shot rallies, don't know who won them but Big Andy was toast by this point and had nothing left. The new meaner, fitter, shaper Grant took the forth and the match 3-2 for himself and Bexley.

Great match with bunch of good fella's.

Man of the match, got to be Coach, the Mighty Matt Horder.
