Report: | BCC II’s first venture into Div II for a while I believe so we wanted to start off well.
Coach V Darren
I didn’t catch much of this game but by all accounts it was fairly straight forward for coach who’s speed and retrieving was more than a match for Darren. Coach took the match 3-0.
The Boy V Trevor
This was an opportunity The Boy to gat his former coach back and he started off as he meant to go on, 9-5 to take the first. Trev put his many years of experience to work and played and tight length and boast game to take the next 9-3, The Boy had changed his racquet while the other was being re-gripped and struggled in the third to scrape out a 9-5 win. With his racquet back and re-newed confidence The Boy pressured Trev into making to many mistakes and so took the forth and the match 3-1.
Big Andy V Andy
Big Andy being injured for the most of last really didn’t need to be playing a ‘fit more fat on a chip person’ , so Big Andy tried to hack the ball off court for the first two and half games, not recommended, only just twigged to slow it down too late in the third. Big Andy did have one consolation, andy put the ball and Big andy drove it down into the nick leaving Andy stumbling and swiping at the ball insisting he got there, plenty of laughter from the gallery!!! But alas 3-0 to Andy.
Smiler V Andrew
Didn’t see much of this game due to marking but from what Smiler said it was a similar story to Big Andy’s. 3-0 to Andrew.
With the score at 2 matches all it was all down to the last match.
Chopper V Simon
At first we all thought Chopper was the underdog but………….having been on a rigorous training regime and fresh from the Maidstone open(runner up) he had different ideas. Although going 0-4 down in the first Chopper fought back and after a few match points won the first 10-8. Both the next two were close but Chopper lived up to his name and Simon just could not live with the pace, Chopper took the next two 6 & 7 and clinched the match for himself and the team.
Man of the match goes to Chopper.
