Report: | With the season coming to an end and with Bromley now a long way off the promotion places this game rather had a sense of not a lot to play for. That sense was rather increased with our team hanging around waiting with the clock showing nearly 8.30 and only one Sundridge Park player ready to play.
Moving on, this was our 7th consecutive game with a 3/2 scoreline. Unfortunately on this occasion we were on the wrong end of it. Special mention though to Giles who became a Dad for the first time at the weekend, but still gamely turned out for us (matchsticks in place) and battled back from 2/1 down to beat Andy for a great win.
The No.1s also played out a 5 setter with Mike taking a 2 game lead before Garth livened himself up to come back and win fairly comfortably in the end. For the second time this season Rich beat Steve in another 3/2 match. A real upper and downer this one, with a lot of high quality rallies. Rich's fitness prevailed in the end, but Steve gave his lot as usual.
Alan was too good for Chris who looked quite lively in the early stages but was guilty of a lot of overhitting. So it was down to Graham and Peter to play out the fifth and deciding game. After a very long tight first game which Peter eventually won 10/9 it was all downhill for Graham who was unable to repeat last week's heroics.
