Report

Report:A thumping good win this for Bromley which puts us at the top of the league (by 1 point), but a result which firmly roots Tunbridge at the bottom. But well done to Miles for getting a team out this week, a team which included 2 Priory debutants.

The two debutants were on court first with Jezz (what is that short for)and Adam playing Graham and Phil respectively (neither of whom can remember their Priory debuts back in the mists of time). Graham can, if he wants, claim beginners luck with Jezz taking the first game incredibly to nil, before getting in to gear and moving comfortably to a 3-1 win. Similarly Adam started strongly, getting to game point in the first, before running out of steam. 3-0 to the Bromley skipper - makes a change from the 3/2 struggles I usually get embroiled in.

The No.3s put up the best game with both players moving each other around with some good rallies. The second game was crucial, one which John really should have won. As it was Mike nicked it to take a 2-0 lead and was pretty much in control thereafter and ran out a 3-0 winner to ensure another Bromley victory.

The No.1s were on the other court and the scoreline suggests another easy win for Tony. It was but only at the cost of a nasty smack in the mouth from a rather wayward backhand follow through from Miles. Tony was 2-0 up at the time and there was only ever going to be one result in this match, but the third game was a bit of a non event with Miles having lost his appetite for the game. I think Tony has also lost his appetite now but then its not easy eating with a great big fat lip. Hopefully another 3-0 win eased the pain a little.

Last on and worth waiting for, Neil put on another show in demolishing Simon for the loss of just 5 points. Simon ran and ran and did his best but Neil was just too damned good - again.

So 20 points for Bromley, top of the league, and I bet there is now at least couple of teams out there thinking that it would be good to beat us lot.
