Report

Report:The elongated summer season kicked off with a trip to Cannons to take on the team that just pipped us to the Division 5 title in the winter. But revenge played no part in my team selection. Honest Guy!! I was genuinely short of a few of my regular top order players and felt justified in drafting in Ian from the 1st team. Tony also was just coming back from injury, and I don't think anybody could remember the last time that Neil played Priory squash. Anyway enough of the excuses, and it wasn't my fault that Cannons were let down by their No.1.

Consequently Bromley enjoyed comfortable wins at Nos. 1,2,and 3 without dropping a game, and in "just back from injury" Tony's case without dropping a point. So commiserations to Will here, no-one likes to see that

It was however good to see Neil's "natural talents" being displayed on the squash court again and hopefully this will be the first of many wins this season. How to make the game look easy should be printed on his shirt - there's plenty of room!!

Inevitably Mark won his game for the home team (does he ever lose) and Graham came off court muttering something about having just been on court with Spiderman, such was Mark's ability to reach everything.

The best game of the evening, or was it the worst, well the closest anyway, saw the 2 captains on court doing battle with Phil just about hanging in to squeeze out a narrow win.

So honours to Bromley and a good start to the new season.
