Report: | A very close match score started with O W going 2 strings up. Chris barker at 1 playing stunning squash beat hany 9-0 6-9 9-0 9-6 with super low hard drives and impecable back hand drops. To hany's credit he was 0-6 down in the 2nd and won 9-6 but thats it. On the other court captain steve spencer was having a blinder winning 3-0. Gurkan did break his racket but thats no excuse for being out played. Our 2 string Steve wyatt was far too strong for the ageing but clever Mike bell winning 3-0 fairly easy. Superstar elliott at 4 won his first 2 games comfortable then had his usual lack of concentration or showboating not sure as i was marking but he lost the 3rd game 10-9 then came back with proper squash winning the 4th 9-0 against puffer lewis. With the match all square it was down to Dean v the ageing micky byrne. 2 0 & 4 says it all, too quick and young.
Plenty of drinks and a lovely curry cooked by captain steve went down a treat for a great evening. |
