| Report: | Our first 5-0 win of the season over the bottom team though some of these games were far closer than the score suggests.
My son dean was first up at 5 against dean breed and my dean raced to 9-3 9-6 then the wheels came off and he started his nervous snatching losing 4-9 6-9 before winning 9-5 in the 5th. Lucky for my dean that the other dean is a smoker & run out of puff. Paul sellery at 4 was on against the dangerous simon wanford in what i though would be the hardest game of the night. Paul raced to 9-0 but i think simon pulled a muscle in his back and was in trouble. Simon fought back hard winning the 2nd 9-5 a too close for comfort 3rd went to paul 10-9 & similar close 4th also to paul 9-7 for a good 3-2 win.
Over on court 1 Steve wyatt had an easy win at 1 over young Anthony garrett 3-0. Hany wanted his revenge over stuart clarke having lost 3-0 in minutes over their place of a freezing court. It looked like a repeat with Stuart winning the 1st 2 games 9-4 9-6 against a very poor hany. stuart was playing perfect squash. hany woke up after words with me winning 9-0 9-0 to go 2-2. A slight glitch early in the 5th was overcome with Hany winning 9-6 for a 3-2 victory.
Last up at 2 Michael breen had an easy win over stuart melbourne 3-0. Stuart gave up in the 2nd over a marking decision and threw it but to be fair he did come back strong in the 3rd losing it 10-8 to michael.
A nice bit of grub followed & we all had a nice chat after with no one going home early. |
