| Report: | A truly shocking result for Bexley 3. started with a phone call at 8.30 saying my son dean was too ill to play. This was followed by a phone call at 2.30 saying my no 1 Hany taleb was injured & also could not play. My day was ruined.
1st up was elliott v Alan at no 3. Alan made elliott look very ordinary and at 2-2 i went home to get the food i had forgotten to bring with me. Elliott nicked it 9/5 in the 5th, well done elliott. My son dean was forced to play at 5 because i could not get 2 replacements on the day. He went 2-0 up and then the Butlins w/e and hangover kicked in, losing 6/9 7/9 3/9 but 2 precious points which i would not have got if i had played. next up Paul at 4 was shocking against a clever old boy (no disrespect)who kept good line and length and won easy 3-0 a very poor result for Paul who has played much better all season. Our replacement for hany had to play at 2 and had no chance against the gifted and very fit county player Mandy 3 0 0 says it all. Gurkan will be re-nominated lower down the order after xmas though this was his last game for us, he is now back in the 5th team for good.
Last up steve wyatt our 2 promoted to 1 where he will be nominated after xmas. Steve was too good for the wily Kent over 55 champion winning 3-0 9/5 9/4 9/4 with not too much trouble.
Always nice to play cannons a good night was had by all (not me because of the result) and i hope the food was ok. |
