| Report: | Dulwich extended their two game winning streak to three with a hard fought 4-1 win over Old Elthamians. Team Captain Simon Wilson set the mood with a 3-0 win over Simon Hibberd. The scoreline did flatter thou because there were some good rallies which could have gone either way. Dulwich's young star of the future,16 year old Jack Burgess then took the court against the more experianced M.Harrison. However, youth was able to overcome experience this time and Jack ran out a 3-0 winner.J-P Winter and R.Mason enjoyed a good tussle but J-P had the better control and variety of shots which enabled him to triumph 3-0. Then came the two matches of the night. Firstly Ade Oyerinde took on OE's Captain Keith Hibberd. This match went back and forth and was very intense. Both players really wanted the win and this made for a very competative match. However, Ade was able to nick the win in the fifth set.Then Ben Kuyumi and Mustafa Yussef played out an amazing five set thriller which had the crowd riveted. The game was played in a fine spirit and both players produced some excellent squash. Mustafa won in the fifth for OE's only win ,but both players deserved the praise they received. A good match and some fine food after. We look forward to our next encounter with OE. |
