Report: | Et tu, Bexley?!
As expected, another dagger is shortly to be thrust into the already ragged flank of the Knole Parqueteers.
Having endured a stuttering start to the season yet managing somehow to keep the nucleus of a decent team together, Knole entertained the runaway leaders of the division - BLT2 - sure in the knowledge that a win would probably drop them from 5th to 6th. How could this be? Well, with the two teams above them and the one below separated by only 4 points - and with all of the others having relatively easy fixtures - KP would need a 20 pointer themselves to be sure of staying put.
As it turned out Knole fought valiantly - using all of the home advantages they had - and edged over the line 3-2. As the night wore on and the returning officers staggered to their PCs, the worst fears of the hosts began to be realised. Now standing back in 5th place, it only remains for Bexley to complete the hurt by despatching Cannons later this week. A Bexley win 3-2 for 15 points should be enough to see Knole plunge to 6th.
The Christmas pud will have a bittersweet taste. So, watch out for the backlash, OEs, on 5th Jan.
