Report: | After getting a severe reprimand from Mehmet (OE's guru) for forfeiting against title contenders Waterfront last week, Knole felt obliged to perform better against high-flying Bexley.
Unfortunately, with only a handful of players to choose from - and most of them injured or sick, KP had to call two part-timers out of semi-retirement. However, the lower order performed solidly - Chris recovering from deficits in all three games, Patrick brushing aside Vic and Mike playing tightly against an opponent who impressed in the knock up but couldn't stay with Mike's determined running.
As usual with clubs the size of a planet, Bexley produced a surprise at 2nd string in Dan. He briefly faltered in the 2nd game against a very rusty Tom, but powered away to win comfortably in 4. Good to see Tom back, though, after 18 months in the wilderness.
Jerry had an off day against a rampant Christo, who clearly relished his promotion in a slightly weakened Bexley team.
With four easy fixtures left (sorry BLTC), Knole appear to have 6th place securely locked up. They can ease off to gird up for the summer fun. |
