Report: | Paul got away first and, strong in all departments, left Oliver looking bemused. Losing 0-3 is not what he does! Things were looking good for Bromley when Mark took the first game, but Warwick who always moves well also struck the ball well, sending Mark the wrong way on too many occasions and hitting tighter shots as the game wore on. Kevin was Waterfront's next victim, John hitting sweet, low drives, especially on his forehand - perhaps the strongest no. 5 in the Division. With another defeat staring Bromley in the face, Ron went on court to face Waterfront's new star, James. Luckily he was a tad rusty and what were nearly impossible shots sat up long enough for Ron to put them away. At 2-2, Brian and Richard took to the court. Brian was in a 'no prisoners' mood and, apart from occasional lunges, Richard had no reply to his inch perfect boasts. There is no doubt that Waterfront expected to win this one and little doubt that Bromley was fortunate to have three players on top form on the night. |
