| Report: | This is only my 1st effort at writing a match report, so please excuse me if it's not very good - hopefully I'll improve with practice.
After a scenic journey to Bexley, beautifully navigated by Catherine Ruffle, Beckenham made a good start to the evening with a win from Catherine at 5. Unfortunately, this was to be Beckenham's only win of the evening. Geoff McMullan, at 4, narrowly lost 3-2 to Lee Atkins and Peter Ray lost 3-2 after a hard battle at 3. Ian Smith then lost 3-1 (contributing the least number of points to the Beckenham score for the evening!) at 2. It was then looking like Simon Joyce might win at 1, but sadly it wasn't to be and he too lost 3-2. Despite a disappointing result for Beckenham, an enjoyable evening was had by all. Well played Bexley.
REMINDER - next Tuesday is Valentine's Day. Hopefully everyone has made suitable excuses to their partners allowing them to play squash. Please send all cards/presents for Catherine c/o Beckenham Cricket club. |
