| Report: | Parklangley's best looking and most lady pleasing team picked up a good number of points against a depleted Tunbridge Wells team battling against summer holidays.
Already one down as a result of a last minute drop out, TW's Carl went on first against Mike. The PL man got off to a great start taking the first two with some impressive use of the court, keeping the tempo up and the ball away from his opponent. Carl battled back well in the 3rd and was in a position to take the match further when Mike manage a run of points to continue his good form from last week. PL 2-0.
Kevin and Stefan then went on while Andy and John battled away on the other court - didn't see the No2s in action but could certainly hear them as John battled his way to an impressive 3-2 victory against Andy.
Meanwhile the No1s were locked in serene combat. Stefan will feel disappointed not to have taken the match, and certainly some games, while Kevin relieved it didn't go past 3. Too many unforced errors from Stefan let Kevin in at crucial times and he was able to take the match 3-0 when it could have gone the other way.
Gerald started well in the final match against John taking the first two games with an array of excellent drop shots. John battled back well in the third, taking the game as a result of some tight lines and good movement of the ball. Gerald turned it around in the 4th however to win the game and the match and enable the supporters to decamp to the bar.
Good food and banter was to be found in the bar following the match and TW2 are welcome back to Parklangley anytime.
