Report: | Knole Park one down before the start - Captain JJ to blame, having failed to advise his team of the fact that Nuffield now play on a Tuesday.
Nuffield brim full of eager first team players, having pulled out of Div 3.
KP, due to Captain having to play and being a man short, short of markers, so unable to provide the usual extra few points for the away team.
Mark first on and off - up against a fitter, younger, keener opponent. (Don't they know he prefers them old and crippled?). I didn't see any of it as busy gasping for breath and praying for a PAR 11 early finish;) perhaps it was the extra burden of the team selection muck-up that spurred me on to a last-gasp win. 2-1 Nuffield - hope kept alive.
Richard looked short of match practice - unsurprising as he probably hasn't had any. Jerry overcame the confusion of playing another awkward lefty to lebel the tie 2-2. Chris then proceeeded to whack the living daylights out of the hot ball and take Knole over the line - despite Guy's lighter, defter touch.
Nuffield's only problem for the rest of the Summer will be deciding who to leave out. (Oh, and how to disguise the old boots they serve up as meat - sorry Chef.)
