| Report: | First on were Mark and Chris. It was Mark's turn to get his drinks in and he didn't intend to delay matters. Chris was not at his best tonight, thus helping Mark's cause. Meanwhile Paul was working out how to get the better of Mark, having lost to him in their last three encounters. Mark's sliced drops, often nicked, were his answer and despite rallying in the third Paul eventually succumbed. With Ron's economical style maintaining his control of the match with Chris, the latter never gave up and nearly stole the second game. Kevin and John might have had a closer encounter but despite the odd lapse Kevin's more varied shots kept him ahead. With the match decided, Nick and Mike had a good workout, Mike doing some amazing retrieving but Nick putting more shots away. As usual at Knole Park the food was first rate - another in a long list of enjoyable encounters with KP. |
