| Report: | Andrew and Leigh were first off and after a shaky start a much-improved Andrew moved well and generally played to a good length and width.
Sean and Peter were not on court for long: too many unforced errors from me while Sean played his usual sensible choice of shot.
If one can have a 4-game marathon, Mark and Dave had one. The players were well-matched, with similar numbers of inspired shots and unforced errors. By the 4th game both players were out on their feet but Mark held his nerve and somehow found a modicum of reserve energy.
Kelvin played inspired squash against Chris, who was carrying an injury and had no answer to some excellent drop-shots. Only when Kelvin tried some drives did Chris come into his own. Fortunately for Bromley, Kelvin resumed his trusty drop.
With a rare victory in the bag, Brian took on Nico who dominated the first game. But despite a heavy head-cold Brian matched Nico for speed and retrieval and built up the night's score to 4-1: all played in excellent spirit. |
