Report: | Losing is getting bit tedious for Bromley so I guess that is why the match reports are drying up. In summary:
Lee played some nice shots but failed to put them away when he could. Easier said than done as John put a high percentage of his shots in the corners.
Kelvin fought well against Dave who blasted his way out of trouble when Kelvin won a string of points on his drops and promisingly won the 3rd to nil.
Peter and Robert played few long rallies, largely because of the former's inability to move forward, but Robert also drove well into the back corners.
Match of night was undoubtedly Tim and Rob's epic. Real squash this time with lots of strategy, movement and few errors. Tim was on song but Rob looked to be coming back, taking the 4th. However, Tim mixed his shots well while Rob seemed to be tiring, so the match went to Tim.
Brian and Darren have met several times, the matches usually going all the way. But not tonight: Brian's returning renal colic did not blend well with Darren's near-perfect drops and after the 4th got under way the result was inevitable.
Anyhow, the meal was superb - lucky that Mary thought she was feeding the 2nd team tonight! |
