| Report: | A strange scoring match, probably indicating that both sides were missing players at various levels of the order. Paul/John and Will/John on first providing some confusing crys of "shot John!" as the other put one in the tin. Both matches proved to be decided on fitness, though John L put up a sterling effort given the age gap.
Next on were Matt/George and Warwick/Andy. Given the good start for Beckenham we were looking to try and wrap the tie up here but some wonderful shot making from George kept Matt at bay for large parts of the game and an off-form Warwick was taken full advantage of by Andy. Match all square.
Si and Darren on last and a long early exchange of handouts isnt represented in the first game score. Darren then proceeded to dominate the second, taking a healthy lead by dominating the 'T'. Si found his rythm again though and was able to move Darren around the court enough to edge the second and take the third comfortably.
A good early win under the belt for Beckenham and FF will cause some issues for others with players playing in their right positions. Good food, beers and banter after to cap it off. |
