| Report: | First up, Keith P and Andy: First game nip and tuck but some nice play from Andy towards the end to win it. 2nd, Andy got a nice lead, Keith fought back, but Andy kept it close, but was starting to feel the workrate and called 1, but lost it. Andy's fitness meant a bit of a struggle in the next 2, so 3-1 Keith
Keith E and Neil: didn't see any of it but Keith had his excuse ready - that he'd just come back from holiday at the weekend.
Ron v Fraser: less said the better ( Ron didn't let Fraser get into it at all )
Rob v Paul: Ah, how nice to see a game strategy not seen for years, Paul is THE classic lob and drop merchant ! Unfortunately, on a warm court against a youngster it wasn't like February on unheated courts, Rob had enough to win fairly comfortably.
So 3-1 to Bromley. But this didn't affect Ross, and he and Nick fought a very hard match, with good play, lots of effort right to the end of the 5th game, a good one to finish on for the spectators, and both players avoiding the throwing up at the end admirably. |
