| Report: | This always had the makings of a tough night for Old Elts with a weakened team and a strong Blackheath team and so it proved. Bob at one has been on good form recently but Tom is a very good player and too strong for Div 5 so try as he might Bob was never going to win this match. Mehmet still recovering from "man flu" which would have surely have seen off any woman just couldn't match Nico and also lost in 3. Steve also recovering from "lesser man flu" than Mehmet managed to beat Leigh 3-1 by sheer determination. Myself who had no aliments so therefore no excuses lost to Kevin 1-3 enough said on that one. Tim also lost 1-3 to David, Tim has been playing well of late but couldn't come to terms with David's style of play so all in all not a good night for Old Elts but Blackheath were well deserved winners and good company. This was our last home game of the season and I would just like to say what a pleasure it is to captain this team and I couldn't ask for a better group of friends looking forward to the last game of the season and the start of the Summer leagues. |
