Report

Report:The PL development team welcomed Sundridge Park to the courts this week, looking to build on last weeks victory and gain some momentum.

First on court, Rich vs. Gary
Unfortunately for Gary, he found Rich in a rare night of form with everything coming off the middle of the racket, nonetheless a good victory wrapped up by the captain to get PL off to a good start.

Next door the mercurial Rob vs. Matt
Robbie's been on an upward curve in terms of performances and development over the last 6 months... Tonight that curve flattened a bit, "stroppy teenager" came to the court instead, although he is sitting exams at the moment and was playing against Matt, who seemed intent on breaking the front wall such was the ferocity of his shots. After a talking to, Rob managed to find some form and eventually win the match, putting PL 2-0 up.

Nilen vs. Dave
Hard to say this wasn't game of the night really, with a contrast in styles, Nilen's hard hitting matched by Dave's retrieving saw the first 2 games keenly contested. Games 3 and 4 perhaps reflected the effort put in by both in the first 2. Anyway, into the 5th game it went, both players gaining and subsequently losing the momentum at various points. Dave was unlucky not to take one of his 2 match balls and Nilen finally clawed victory from the clutches of defeat. PL 3-0

Meanwhile Paul vs James on the other court.
Didn't see a single shot of this match due to marking. I did however, see Paul having to change his racket and then subsequently hearing that he was hitting half decent drop shots... For the 2nd week running!

So 4-0 and last game was Adam vs. Chris
Good game to watch with Adam delving deep into his bag of trick shots, whilst Chris was doing his best to find every nick possible. A good game but in the end Adam comfortably closed out to see Park Langley record a 5-0 win.

Good night, sorry to Sundridge for the state the food was presented in. Look forward to the return leg.
