Report: | Poult Wood got off to a good start with Mark thrashing Stuart, who was lucky to sneak a game and needs to take a long, hard look at himself as he's at risk of being dropped according to my sources.
On the other count Gerald and Simon were having a great game. Simon appeared to have it in the bag an 2-1 and 8/4 up but Gerald dug in to come back. The reverse happened in the fifth, Gerald was 8/5 up but some aggressive shots from Simon got him homed in what turned out to be the pivotal match of the night.
Andy continues he good form, not giving Jake much of a chance with a number of tight, accurate winners to battle through against a tricky opponent.
Trev and Craig has an up and down game, swing one way and then the other. Craig was unable to capitalise on winning the second to love with Trev coming back well. The fourth went to the wire with Trev doing enough to take the nights matches to 2-2.
Kevin went on and started well, taking the first. From then on Ben was in control, making Kevin working and getting to most of his shots. Ben powered through the take the final games fairly easily and win the match for Poult Wood.
I bit of time was spent jeering the first team, posing and mincing around on the other courts before decamping to the bar for a couple of beers and curry. Another good nights squash and entertainment in what is proving to be an enjoyable and competitive league. |
