| Report: | Hot steamy Langley welcomed Bexley to courts 3 and sauna 4.
First up Old Captain T shirt v Christo with CT without kit or shoes a quick rally round and he was away kit too tight and shoes the wrong size CT lost the first two , another change with someone else's shoes and CT slowly clawed the match back 3/2 win and a great game to watch .
On sauna 4. Superman Dave v Gurkan Dave not playing any matches these days but still not lost his talent ,Gurkan stole a game and put in a sterling performance.
Stu v Graham. Didn't see any of this game as was playing on court 3 but by all accounts Stu played well to take in it 4 against a very tricky player .
AB v Kieran. Andy came out of the traps at full pace to take the first two in pretty short time ,Kieran with plenty advice from team mates changed his game and gradually got back on level terms the last game saw Andy wilt in the heat and for the third week running lost in 5 less beer me thinks in the winter ,and not play players thirty years my younger . (How do you do it every week Clive ) .
So with the match at 3-1 to Langley the No 1 hit the court.
Full support from all players/members/first team/cleaners/and all to watch Simon v Andy had someone mentioned the previous game they had ?
Well it was scrappppy to say the least let after let stroke after stroke conduct warning for both players toys thrown out of both prams handbags drawn for battle .
At 2-2 and the clock ticking towards eleven both players finally reached the end 9-9 in the fifth wow it could not be closer .
Simon edged over the line to take the win and a 4-1 total win a quick shower and into the bar at 11.15. Well played Bexley a good match enjoyed by all ! Well most . |
