| Report: | Needing nine points to secure league winners, things didn’t start too well for BCC as Keeley had to withdraw late on match day and I was struggling with a calf injury.
Things looked even worse after our late number 5 replacement, Nick, lost 0-3 to Jonathan, and Mike lost the opening two games at number 4.
However, by the end of the night BCC could declare themselves league winners as we turned what could have been a possible defeat to a South African ex-pat team (otherwise known as Blackheath) into a 4-1 win.
Can’t say too much about the individual matches as I either strapping up my leg or playing, but Mike did well to come back from 2 nil down and win 3-2 and Dan beat Michael for the loss of only one point – perhaps this is why Michael didn’t bother to shower afterwards as it was all over in 10 minutes.
Given the abundance of shepherd’s pie, fish pie and mixed veg for dinner, James and I had planned on sharing the sausages and having them warmed up for breakfast the next day. That was until Mike “The Sausage Eater” spotted them. Oh well, it will have to be bran flakes again.
