| Report: | Langley towers welcomed our very close neighbours Beckenham on this very eventful evening.
First up Mighty Mickey V Robin. Mickey started very fast and caught robin out still getting used to the court 1/0. Robin played some nice lengths in the second but MM was not having any of that and closed the game out with his trade mark drops . The hot court 4 was hitting Robin hard in the third and MM steamed home to take the win .
On court 3 the Porky Plumber V Simon great to see simon playing again and not traveling the world (bastard) didn't see much of this as marking but the scores show a fairly easy time for PP and good to see him back after injury 3/0 .
Andy v Jeff , Jeff took the first with some nice shots,but the heat saw him fade away as the smell of beer got ever closer a good game between to old mates ,3/1 AB .
Simon V Neil , again didn't see this one but si has been playing well of recent and only the mighty Olby was gonna beat him ! Neil got a game but not enough 3/1 .
So 4/0 up and enter Ex Captain T shirt v young Shapcott.
CT styling a little brown number exposing all the parts that other shirts can't show and looking like a well oiled machine started the first game well running the young fella around ,but Ali came out on top to take the first ,the gallery muttered CT won't last 3 games ! Onto the second and Ali kept running and running all the way to an 8/0 lead then teased CT all the back to 6 then finished him off .0/2 . At this stage I went for a shower as the pain was too much to see , on return CT had stolen a game and was about to take the second 2/2
The second was even all the way with CT sucking in every drop of air he could ,Ali just getting warm .Well against all the odds CT took the game and the match 9/6 a fantastic performance and deserves man of the match .
So into the bar to get Jeff another beer and to see Brazil getting a bashing from the Germans ha ha, and another match up with two members having a fight over the football ,o Tuesdays are the best day ! Fish and chips and home . |
